Alpha Tau Omega

Dear Parents and Alumni of the Iota Sigma chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at the University of Central Missouri, we are pleased to invite you to the annual Parents Alumni Banquet on March 24, 2007.  The banquet will be held at Fitters Banquet hall on 121st East Pine Street, downtown Warrensburg Missouri.  There will be an auction where everyone will bring something; some examples would be a food basket, flash drives, ATΩ memorabilia or anything else that you choose (it doesn’t have to be expensive).  The auction will be to benefit the chapter funds.  There will be a golf tournament set up for Saturday morning with tee off at 9 am. We will meet at the Fraternity Complex on Holden Street, south of the University campus at noon to have the barbeque.  For those who are golfing you may show up after you have completed your round.  After the barbeque, we will stick around the complex until around 6pm.  We will then leave for Fitters Banquet hall for the dinner which will be semiformal.  The dinner will cost $20.00 a plate, there will be a bartender as well, (again funds will help support the chapter.)  During the Dinner, we will hold the auction, and give out the awards for various chapter achievements.  After the dinner people will be going downtown if you choose to do so.  For any additional information on Parents Alumni weekend, contact Alex Johnson at (417) 850-9982, or email at asj64500@cmsu2.cmsu.edu.   RSVP ASAP.

Chapter Goals & Achievements

The men at Alpha Tau Omega have been busy striving for excellence as a Greek establishment on this campus.  In the spring semester of 2006 we started a new annual event called Batting for Habitat.  We set up this softball tournament to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.  The first annual Batting for Habitat raised over $1000.00 for donation.  This year we plan to raise even more.  Another event that we have initiated is volunteering hours every Wednesday to help out at the Veterans home in Warrensburg.  This year we have held our grades above the all men’s average, and have implemented study hours to assist with raising grades. We had another philanthropy event on February 13, 2007 where chapter members took turns giving out hot chocolate and accepting donations that were given to the Lighthouse Foundation on campus to help support sexual assault awareness. Recently, we have come up with a scholarship which will go to one active and one pledge.  This scholarship will go towards bills in the chapter.  The recipients will also receive a plaque and be recognized at the Parents Alumni event.

We would like to recognize all Alpha Tau Omega actives who received a 3.0 or above in the Fall semester of 2006.

-Alex Johnson – 3.8

-Eric Wilmarth – 3.45
